Karina is an artist and calligrapher based in Sydney, Australia. 

She works across a wide field of genres from fine art watercolour and soft pastels through to expressive experimentation in mixed media. She pushes the boundaries by using bold gestural calligraphic marks in her art, along with inks, pigments, textiles and tools made from nature. Bold colour, lines, architecture and diverse cultures all pervade her artistic expression. 

“Images and language connects us all, it is about community and belonging, it is about expression and culture”. 

In her calligraphy she works with both traditional and contemporary writing. Illumination with gilding is used  through to the latest techniques incorporating inks, watercolour and natural pigments. Karina enjoys using experimental letterforms through the use of negative space.  

She has worked with many of the best calligraphers worldwide, including undertaking a masterclass in Florence, Italy.
